Campaign Description

From naming a theater seat, to a plaque on the stage itself, there are many ways to become part of the magnificent history of the theater while contributing to its grand future. Most naming opportunities are recognized with permanent plaques and a listing on the theater's donor wall. And these opportunities, perfect for gift giving or memorializing a friend or loved-one, start at only $250. Or get a group together to name a piece of the Empress on behalf of your high school graduating class, company, civic organization, family or club. While the 2009 campaign is focused on the theater's many naming opportunities, other gifts and sponsorships of any amount are also gratefully accepted and will contribute toward the campaign goal.

Need

The goal of the 2009 fundraising campaign is two-fold. There are additional capital improvements needed to fully realize the theater's potential for live performances and to lower the cost of film and add flexibility to rental use. All of these improvements are necessary to maximize the Empress's ability to create a solid income stream for the theater. Additionally, no civic performing arts center earns 100% of its budgetary needs through ticket sales, concession sales and other earned income. A portion of this year's fundraising goal will be utilized for administration and programming, for a 100-year-old building is not inexpensive to operate.

Financial Goal

Our 2009 goal is to raise $250,000. This campaign will fund:

  • Programming/Administration 75,000
  • Fundraising Expenses 15,000
